How to Use This Tool
Combine starting backlog and incoming orders into a clearance plan. Estimate productive labor hours, workers per day and backlog remaining for a weekend fulfillment recovery plan.
The decision this tool supports
A recovery target fails when planners staff only the opening backlog and ignore orders arriving during the clearance window. This page keeps the decision bounded to workers required per day and the supporting outputs shown beside it. Weekend Backlog does not import an account, infer a market rate, or silently substitute an industry average.
Inputs and units
The Weekend Backlog calculation uses Starting backlog, New orders during plan, Productive orders per labor hour, Clearance days, Productive hours per worker per day. Keep all money values in one currency and all time, distance, mass, energy or volume entries in the unit printed beside the field. Mixing Weekend Backlog scopes can produce a plausible number with the wrong meaning.

- Productive hours per worker per day is entered in hours.
Formula and worked check
Total orders = starting backlog + expected arrivals; workers per day = total orders ÷ orders per hour ÷ days ÷ productive hours. A backlog of 1,800 plus 600 arrivals at 12 orders per hour needs 200 labor hours or 16.67 workers per day across two six-hour days. The Weekend Backlog default is an executable known-answer case, not a benchmark or recommendation. Change one input and verify that the direction of workers required per day still matches the stated relationship.
How to interpret the result
Round workers upward and then test whether shifts, stations and carrier cutoffs can support the implied throughput. The additional Weekend Backlog outputs expose the denominator, comparison, capacity or reverse value needed to audit the primary result instead of presenting one unexplained number.

Save the Weekend Backlog input values and date with any material decision. A later Weekend Backlog rerun is reproducible only when the same assumptions and units are available.

It assumes average throughput, even arrivals and sufficient inventory, stations, packing supplies and carrier capacity. Weekend Backlog is an estimate and cannot replace a contract, local code, licensed professional, calibrated measurement, lender statement or platform report where one governs the decision.
