How to Use This Tool
Turn a locale-to-URL table into copy-ready tags with row-level validation. Generate hreflang link tags from language and URL rows, flag duplicate locales and malformed values, and optionally add an x-default target.
The work this page finishes
International pages need a consistent reciprocal language map, but one duplicated locale or malformed URL can invalidate a hand-built block without being visually obvious. Keeping source order beside the computed artifact lets a user repair only the failed entries and reproduce the same batch later.
Deterministic workflow
Validate language-shaped tags and absolute HTTP(S) URLs, prevent duplicate locale keys, escape quote characters and append one optional x-default tag. A run is capped at 5,000 items and 2 MB, preventing an accidental oversized paste while preserving successful rows when another row fails.
Why a dedicated interface helps
Place the same complete set on every alternate page and verify canonicals and reciprocal links with a crawler after deployment. A purpose-built form exposes every assumption and returns the same ordered structure on every run, which is more practical than reconciling shifting conversational output.
Assumptions
- Every listed page is a genuine alternate of the same content.
- Language tags are intentionally supplied by the site owner.
- Absolute final URLs use HTTP or HTTPS.
Keep an untouched copy for comparison after import; the browser performs the work locally, but local software and extensions are not controlled by this page.
Limitations and review boundary
It does not fetch pages, prove reciprocity, validate every BCP 47 subtag, choose canonical URLs or guarantee search-engine interpretation. The implementation neither follows user-entered links nor evaluates their contents, and it displays material as plain text rather than active HTML.
Verification and provenance
Fixtures derived from the displayed rule and Google Search Central — Localized versions were reviewed on 2026-08-26; they include normal, empty or invalid, and partial-failure behavior. Three locale rows plus the default URL produce four copy-ready link elements with no duplicate keys.
