How to Use This Tool
Translate earned points and remaining weight into a required future average. Calculate the average score needed on remaining coursework to reach a target final grade, plus the maximum achievable grade.
The decision this tool supports
A current grade does not show whether a target is still feasible without accounting for how much assessed weight remains. This page keeps the decision bounded to required remaining average and the supporting outputs shown beside it. Grade Recovery Path does not import an account, infer a market rate, or silently substitute an industry average.
Inputs and units
The Grade Recovery Path calculation uses Completed course weight, Average on completed work, Target final grade, Maximum future average. Keep all money values in one currency and all time, distance, mass, energy or volume entries in the unit printed beside the field. Mixing Grade Recovery Path scopes can produce a plausible number with the wrong meaning.

Formula and worked check
Required remaining average = (target − completed weight × completed average) ÷ remaining weight, with percentage weights expressed as fractions. At 60% completed with a 72% average, reaching 80% requires 92% over the remaining 40%; the maximum final grade is 83.2%. The Grade Recovery Path default is an executable known-answer case, not a benchmark or recommendation. Change one input and verify that the direction of required remaining average still matches the stated relationship.
How to interpret the result
A required average above the entered future maximum means the target is not reachable under those assumptions; discuss options with the instructor. The additional Grade Recovery Path outputs expose the denominator, comparison, capacity or reverse value needed to audit the primary result instead of presenting one unexplained number.

Save the Grade Recovery Path input values and date with any material decision. A later Grade Recovery Path rerun is reproducible only when the same assumptions and units are available.

It assumes category weights combine linearly and excludes dropped grades, curves, extra credit and unentered syllabus rules. Grade Recovery Path is an estimate and cannot replace a contract, local code, licensed professional, calibrated measurement, lender statement or platform report where one governs the decision.
