Include voltage and usable-capacity limits instead of treating amp-hours as energy by itself. Convert battery amp-hours to nominal watt-hours, usable watt-hours, kilowatt-hours and ideal runtime at an entered load.
The decision this tool supports
Amp-hours omit voltage, so two batteries with the same Ah rating can store very different energy. This page keeps the decision bounded to nominal energy and the supporting outputs shown beside it. Battery Ah to Wh does not import an account, infer a market rate, or silently substitute an industry average.
Inputs and units
The Battery Ah to Wh calculation uses Battery capacity, Nominal voltage, Usable capacity, Average load. Keep all money values in one currency and all time, distance, mass, energy or volume entries in the unit printed beside the field. Mixing Battery Ah to Wh scopes can produce a plausible number with the wrong meaning.

Formula and worked check
Nominal watt-hours = amp-hours × volts. Usable watt-hours multiply nominal energy by the entered usable-capacity percentage. A 100 Ah, 12 V battery is 1,200 Wh nominal; at 80% usable capacity it supplies 960 Wh, or 16 ideal hours at 60 W. The Battery Ah to Wh default is an executable known-answer case, not a benchmark or recommendation. Change one input and verify that the direction of nominal energy still matches the stated relationship.
How to interpret the result
Ideal runtime is a planning ceiling at the entered average load; compare it with measured runtime after inverter, temperature and discharge-rate effects. The additional Battery Ah to Wh outputs expose the denominator, comparison, capacity or reverse value needed to audit the primary result instead of presenting one unexplained number.

Save the Battery Ah to Wh input values and date with any material decision. A later Battery Ah to Wh rerun is reproducible only when the same assumptions and units are available.

The model excludes voltage sag, Peukert effect, inverter loss, battery-management cutoff, temperature, aging and manufacturer discharge limits.
