How to Use This Tool
Create a uniform thumbnail index while preserving source order and filenames. Arrange local PNG, JPEG or WebP images into a labeled contact sheet, calculate page geometry, preview the real files, and download a private PNG.
The work this page finishes
Reviewing a folder one image at a time makes selection and filename communication slow; a contact sheet must keep sequence and labels attached to real thumbnails. For Photo Contact Sheet, the row-preserving workspace makes a correction repeatable without rebuilding a prompt or transmitting the source file.
Deterministic workflow
Fit each decoded image proportionally inside a fixed 4:3 thumbnail box, retain source order and place its filename in a reserved label band below the image. For Photo Contact Sheet, this page accepts at most 5,000 records and 2 MB of text; rejected items retain their row references while valid items remain available.
Why a dedicated interface helps
Use the sheet for selection notes and visual indexing, then return to originals for pixel-level or color-critical review. For Photo Contact Sheet, immediate recalculation and a stable export are useful when the same rule must be applied consistently across a list instead of explained one item at a time.
Assumptions
- Source order is the intended review order.
- A 4:3 thumbnail box is suitable for the proof sheet.
- Filenames are safe review labels and may be truncated visually.
For Photo Contact Sheet, retain the original source until the destination accepts the result; processing stays in this tab, although the device and installed extensions remain part of the user's security boundary.
Limitations and review boundary
It does not edit originals, paginate for a particular printer, preserve metadata, color-manage output or replace high-resolution inspection. For Photo Contact Sheet, no supplied URL is requested and no pasted markup or code is executed; output is inserted through text-only DOM operations.
Verification and provenance
The implementation was checked against MDN — Canvas API on 2026-08-26, with fixtures for a known answer, an invalid input and a batch-specific edge condition. Four mixed-aspect images at two columns produce a two-row sheet with proportional fits and one filename label per cell.
