How to Use This Tool
Convert packs, items per pack and item size into total listed quantity. Convert marketplace pack count and unit size into total items, total measure and price per base unit for listing comparison.
The decision this tool supports
Marketplace titles mix pack count, item count and size per item, so shoppers and sellers can compare the wrong denominator. This page keeps the decision bounded to total base-unit quantity and the supporting outputs shown beside it. Listing Pack Size does not import an account, infer a market rate, or silently substitute an industry average.
Inputs and units
The Listing Pack Size calculation uses Packs in listing, Items per pack, Measure per item, Listing price. Keep all money values in one currency and all time, distance, mass, energy or volume entries in the unit printed beside the field. Mixing Listing Pack Size scopes can produce a plausible number with the wrong meaning.
- Packs in listing is entered in packs.
- Items per pack is entered in items.
- Measure per item is entered in base units.
- Listing price is entered in currency.
Formula and worked check
Individual items = packs × items per pack; total base units = individual items × measure per item; unit prices divide listing price. Four six-packs of 12 base units contain 24 items and 288 base units; $28.80 equals $1.20 per item and $0.10 per unit. The Listing Pack Size default is an executable known-answer case, not a benchmark or recommendation. Change one input and verify that the direction of total base-unit quantity still matches the stated relationship.
How to interpret the result
Label the base unit explicitly before comparing another listing; the arithmetic cannot decide whether ounces mean weight or fluid volume. The additional Listing Pack Size outputs expose the denominator, comparison, capacity or reverse value needed to audit the primary result instead of presenting one unexplained number.
Assumptions
- Every pack has the same item count.
- Every item has the same measured size.
- Listing price covers the full multipack.
Save the Listing Pack Size input values and date with any material decision. A later Listing Pack Size rerun is reproducible only when the same assumptions and units are available.
Limitations and safety boundary
It does not convert between measurement systems or account for coupons, tax, shipping and subscription discounts. Listing Pack Size is an estimate and cannot replace a contract, local code, licensed professional, calibrated measurement, lender statement or platform report where one governs the decision.
