Translate a six-bit DSCP codepoint into packet-header representations. Convert a DSCP decimal codepoint into six-bit binary, shifted ToS byte value and hexadecimal byte with ECN set to zero.
The decision this tool supports
Device interfaces alternately request a DSCP codepoint, binary field or full eight-bit ToS value, inviting a two-bit shift error. This page keeps the decision bounded to shifted tos byte and the supporting outputs shown beside it. DSCP Value Format does not import an account, infer a market rate, or silently substitute an industry average.
Inputs and units
The DSCP Value Format calculation uses DSCP decimal value. Keep all money values in one currency and all time, distance, mass, energy or volume entries in the unit printed beside the field. Mixing DSCP Value Format scopes can produce a plausible number with the wrong meaning.

Formula and worked check
The six-bit DSCP codepoint occupies the high six bits of the traffic-class byte; with ECN 00, the byte value is DSCP × 4. DSCP 46 is binary 101110 and shifts to ToS byte 184 (hex B8) when ECN is zero. The DSCP Value Format default is an executable known-answer case, not a benchmark or recommendation. Change one input and verify that the direction of shifted tos byte still matches the stated relationship.
How to interpret the result
The decimal ToS output assumes ECN bits are zero; represent the same byte in hexadecimal when a configuration expects that notation. The additional DSCP Value Format outputs expose the denominator, comparison, capacity or reverse value needed to audit the primary result instead of presenting one unexplained number.

Save the DSCP Value Format input values and date with any material decision. A later DSCP Value Format rerun is reproducible only when the same assumptions and units are available.
Limitations and safety boundary
It assumes ECN is zero and does not validate vendor-specific command syntax or traffic-class handling. DSCP Value Format is an estimate and cannot replace a contract, local code, licensed professional, calibrated measurement, lender statement or platform report where one governs the decision.
